For the first time since June 2015, the elusive singer’s blog has been updated with a new post: a library due date card, with stamps dating back to July 3rd 2015. The only two dates on it that haven’t passed yet are July 2016, at the very bottom of the card, and November 13 2016, hidden near the top out of chronological order.
Ocean’s blog, boysdontcry.co, provided the first information regarding the followup to 2012’s award winning Channel Orange, the album that catapulted Ocean from Odd Future crooner to Grammy-winning superstar. Last June, the blog was created with one post: Frank holding a magazine titled “Boys Don’t Cry” (pictured below), with the caption “I got two versions. I got twoooo versions” and the promise of Issue 1 and Album 3 in July 2015.

July 2015 came and went without a word from Ocean, who proceeded to lock himself away to work on his third album. Ocean has emerged very rarely since, only appearing through powerful posts on his Tumblr, a thirty second song on Kanye’s latest album, and a couple songwriting credits on James Blake’s The Colour in Anything. Hopefully Frank sticks to one of these two tentative dates, and we aren’t stuck waiting for another year of anticipation and letdowns by one of the most important songwriters of our time.
