XXL Freshman and speaker of the youth Lil Yachty has released his second album of the summer, titled Summer Songs 2, keeping up his frequent release schedule and living up to his proclamation as “only one who really care about cover art“.

After teasing the album in interviews, Summer Songs 2 features members of Yachty’s usual “sailing team” – including Burberry Perry, Byou, K$upreme, and Bigbruthachubba – along with Lil Herb and Offset. The 14 track effort finds the red-haired musical enigma singing his charmingly off-key, autotuned youth anthems with all the glee and conviction that made March’s Lil Boat: The Mxitape one of the year’s most interesting albums.

The album follows a series of features and loosies that found Yachty working with Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana, Young Thug and T.I., Chance the Rapper, and D.R.A.M. (among dozens more). The eighteen-year-old has maintained a consistent output since he started rapping just over a year ago, and his first North American tour kicks off with a sold-out show in Vancouver on August 6th.
