GOOD Music rapper/producer Travis Scott went very quickly from being “that guy who produced Yeezus” to becoming a superstar artist in his own right, and with good reason: last year’s Rodeo album was one of the year’s highlights, with the Houston rapper’s characteristically moody soundscapes complimenting a range of features that included Future, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber.

Travis Scott’s followup, titled Bird In The Trap Sing McKnight, has seen a series of projected release dates come and go (the most recent one being last Friday), but yesterday Travis Scott took over Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio with his new show, called “.WAV Radio”. While Scott didn’t give any indication of when the album’s coming out, he did confirm that Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, and California rapper Kamaiyah (who recently dropped her debut album, A Good Night in the Ghetto, and appeared on YG’s Still Brazy) would all be appearing. Producers Cashmere Cat and Mike Dean are also slated to appear.

The show also saw Scott previewing new music, including solo song “The Hooch”, a song with Young Thug titled “Yeah Yeah”, and a remix of Alicia Key’s “In Common” with Kanye West.

Over the course of the show Scott confirmed his “.Wav Party” in LA tonight, which will feature the release of videos for Rodeo cut “90210” and recent single “Pick Up The Phone”, which features Young Thug and Quavo. Scott also revealed a few interesting things over the course of the interview, including that Quavo came up with the name for the album, and that he came up with his own stage name by combining his uncle’s name (Travis) with Kid Cudi’s first name (Scott).

Travis Scott’s one of the most versatile artists in the game right now, and Birds In the Trap is expected to prove that he can progress past Rodeo into truly expanding his signature sound. Here’s hoping he can progress past whatever label issues and setbacks are holding back his sophomore album, as Scott’s ambitiously already working on a third album, titled Astroworld.

EDIT: Travis Scott has announced that Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight will be released at the end of the month.
