For one of my most anticipated albums of the year, Anderson .Paak prepares to drop his second full-length of 2016 with Yes Lawd!, as half of producer/performer duo NxWorries. Teaming up with producer Knxwledge for the albums 19 tracks, Yes Lawd, which drops October 21st, furthers the musical partnership that started with last December’s Link Up & Suede, a 5-Track EP that proved .Paak can flow swankily over a funky Knxwledge beat.
Both previously released songs “Link Up” and “Suede” will appear on the album, along with new single “Lyk Dis” (currently only available to stream on Spotify).With no features, the album is going to exclusively showcase .Paak’s incredible range of sound, lapsing between rapping and singing with carefree ease. Surprisingly, “Bubbling”, a live track .Paak recently debuted at Splash! 19 festival in Germany, was left off the album, which may indicate that the Oxnard, California artist is also working on new music with his backing band, the Free Nationals.
Young producer Knxwledge has had a fairly prolific 5-year career, dropping more than seventy albums and EPs on his own and collaborating with the likes of Joey Bada$$ (“Killuminati“), Blu (“Keep Pushinn“), Kendrick Lamar (“Momma“), Ghostface Killah (“I Ain’t Even Done“), and Earl Sweatshirt (on the Adult Swim Singles collaboration “Balance”
