In March, Atlanta rapper Bankroll Fresh (born Trentavious White, Sr.) was tragically shot and killed outside his studio. The young rapper was fast on the track to fame, with an established single in his 2014 hit “Hot Boy” and a series of mixtapes that saw him working with many heavyweight artists and producers, including Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, T.I., and Jeezy.
Following his death (at the hand of childhood friend No Plug, who, despite confessing to the murder in an interview, has yet to be questioned or arrested), artists from Pusha T to Earl Sweatshirt mourned the loss of the hopeful up-and-comer.
On August 2nd, which would’ve been Fresh’s 29th birthday, close friends JB, DJEsudd, and Joe Moore compiled footage of the late rapper to create a music video for an unreleased song. “Ran Up A Check”, produced by GottiRockSolid, is the kind of Atlanta trap banger that Bankroll was getting known for. Check it out below:
The footage shows a dedicated artist, always surrounded by friends whether on the road or in the studio, looking comfortable and excited whether he was performing with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne or playing basketball with toddlers.
Check out Bankroll’s numerous free releases on Datpiff or Soundcloud.
RIP to Bankroll.
