Two Isaiah Rashad posts in a row, I know, but this is big news.

Five days ago, TDE president Anthony Tiffith set the rap internet afire by tweeting the date September 2nd, presumed to be an album release date, with no word whose album he was referring to.

Today, Isaiah Rashad confirmed what many hoped and believed: that this September, we’d see the release of his long-awaited followup to debut EP Cilvia Demo.

Along with this announcement, Rashad dropped a music video for his latest single, “Free Lunch”. The video finds Rashad laundering money in the most literal sense, while outside in the parking lot, friends hustle any way they know how: from selling CDs (in a situation redolent of the late Alton Sterling) to selling “Bo Knows” shirts out of their cars. The excellent direction comes from aplus, a TDE favourite who also directed Zay’s “Shot You Down” and “Ronnie Drake” videos.

Fans have been impatient after going nearly two years without a new project from Zay, but now we only have less than a month to go. In the meantime, cop his phenomenal debut album on iTunes and check out this excellent fan-compiled mixtape of his early work, which has been downloaded over 100,000 times, on Datpiff.
